Exchange students sample the quintessential Oxford experience!

A group of exchange students have recently returned home, having spent the last semester enjoying everything the historic city of Oxford has to offer.

The students, who are all secondary school students in Tripoli, Libya, arrived in Oxford in July. They spent their three months at Oxford International Study Centre, attending (ELBC) English Language Beginners Course, whilst staying at a local host family.  On top of their studies, the students also had the opportunity to visit attractions the historic city had to offer.  They enjoyed a trip to the Carfax tower, situated in the very heart of the town centre.  The name Carfax derives from the French word "carrefour", or "crossroads.  The tower's location made it a good central reference point for the students to tour the old city centre of Oxford.

The students also enjoyed the quintessential Oxford experience; punting on the river Cherwell!

Robert Marsden, ELBC Co-ordinator at the study centre, commented: “The exchange students were a pleasure to have.   It was a new experience for them and they fully enjoyed all aspects of student life in Oxford.  They also studied hard and did very well in all their classes.  Their response was very positive and they are planning to pursue further course at the study centre.  We hope to have them next summer."
